After more than two years of discussions, Barry Moore of MacGraphics, Inc., and RJ Shelton of Lil' Fish, Big Pond have joined forces to bring our community the most comprehensive GLBT owned/operated and GLBT friendly database of businesses and organizations in the nation.

For years now, Moore has provided the Lambda Directory to the Greater Hampton Roads area of Virginia, as well as other parts of the state.  In 1999, he added an online element to provide information and links of all the clients listed in his directory.

In 1995, Shelton began designing websites on a part-time basis, and has since developed a variety of websites to provide free information to consumers.  Last year, he formed Lil' Fish, Big Pond, a Virginia Beach based company which provides website design, development, hosting, internet marketing, and training to companies around the globe.

Moore and Shelton met in 2006 for the first time, and have since been in discussions about this collaboration.  The original plan was for Shelton to redesign the Lambda Directory website, and then take over the maintenance and hosting of the site.  "We just didn't have the time to maintain the site like we wanted to", said Moore.

But Shelton was looking at a larger picture.  "I not only wanted us to expand to cover all of Virginia, but the entire country and Canada", he stated.  And that is just what they have done with this new site which officially kicks off next month.

They have already received tremendous response, even before the official kick-off date of May 1, 2008.  "We just sent out some invitations to some of the folks in our database, and the listings just started pouring in.  I was amazed at the number of people that signed up immediately, and all of the positive feedback that we've already received".  "This is the strongest opening that I have seen for any of the projects that I have developed or worked on", said Shelton.

Moore wishes to reassure all of his current advertisers that their free listing, which has always been included to advertisers in the Lambda Directory, will continue on the new website.  However, those folks will be responsible for keeping their listing updated within the new database.
